Nature
The Yellow Edge Shell Turtle is gentle and weak; like other box turtles, when surprised, it will retract its head, tail, hands and feet into its shell. Then close the shell tightly to protect the enemy. The body structure of the yellow-margined box turtle is unique compared to other turtles. The space between the carapace and plastron, and the ventral shield and thoracic shield are all connected by tough straps. Therefore, when turtles are attacked by enemies, they can pinch or injure them, such as snakes, rats and other animals, or they can retract themselves into their shells without exposing any flesh, so that the enemies cannot start. Yellow-margined box turtles are bolder than other freshwater turtles and are not afraid of people. They rarely fight with other species. Individuals raised for 2 to 4 months can squirm with their owners when prompted by food.
