Red Bamboo Snake
The red bamboo snake (Elaphe porphyracea), also known as the purple-grey snake, is a non-venomous snake with a plain body. This kind of snake is relatively gentle in nature and likes to exercise at night, so it is very easy to keep as a pet snake.
Red bamboo snakes generally have a red or reddish-brown background color, with three black vertical stripes on the center of the back of the head and behind the eyes. There are also 2 black straight stripes on both sides of the dorsal midline of the body, and 9-17 brown horizontal stripes with black outer edges intertwined with the above 3 black stripes. It is a rare and precious animal in China.
