The Scottish Fold cat is a natural gradation of Scottish farm cats. This breed was developed in Scotland and the UK through crossbreeding between British shorthair cats and domestic cats. In the United States, American shorthair cats and British shorthair cats are crossed. The lineage of all purebred Scottish Fold cats can be traced back to a Fold cat named Susie, which was the first Fold cat created by William and Mary Ross, the founders of this breed.
 Head: The jaw and chin are round and strong. There are round beard pads on the muzzle. The head should be consistent with the short neck. The male cat's cheeks are thick and thick.
